Attitude is EVERYTHING!

Attitude is EVERYTHING!

Last blog post I discussed five specific strategies to thrive in a soft economy. David Rice was kind enough to send me a message on facebook after reading my blog post. In his message, David wrote, “What’s helped our team is finding the positive opportunity…the negative outside world is not welcome in our office…” David is right on!!

I absolutely love the comment, “the negative outside world is not welcome in our office!” I simply could not agree more. If you want to succeed today, and grow, and help more patients enjoy the benefits of great oral health, then it must begin with your attitude. To help you with this, below is a wonderful poem that I read every morning as a reminder. The poem is titled, “Promise Yourself”:

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind

To talk health, happiness and prosperity to everyone you meet

To help all you friends feel that there is something in them

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true

To think only of the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the achievements of the future

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble

This poem has been adopted as the ‘Optimist Creed’ by the organization Optimist International. They have created desktop designs featuring tenets of the poem, ‘Promise Yourself’ to serve as a reminder of just how important it is to live the optimist lifestyle. Below is a link for these desktop designs:

This blog post also reminded me of a wonderful story about how to succeed in tough economic times. Below is a link to the amazing story titled “Opportunity Abounds”:

Opportunity Abounds

I encourage you to start each day by reading the poem ‘Promise Yourself’ and bookmark the story ‘Opportunity Abounds’ and revisit it from time to time just to remind yourself that now is a great time to help more patients enjoy the benefits of great oral health. Here’s to your success. Keep Smiling!
